Chris Raastad is a computer science graduate from Seattle who took off to Estonia on a Fulbright scholarship in August 2011. He witnessed first hand the Estonia transformation, met his best friends at his first networking night, and stayed to build his engineering career while active in the startup community. As an early engineer and team lead in TransferWise, he learned first hand how to globally scale an organization and technical systems in a rapidly growing business.

He moved to NYC with TransferWise in 2017 and then to Miami in 2018 to become the first developer and launch electric scooter-sharing startup Bolt Mobility. After a successful launch and rapid expansion to dozens of cities, Chris continued on as Director of Engineering and leads the implementation of compliance and data sharing requirements with cities and mobility data companies. He actively participates in the development of the open-source Mobility Data Specification, the standard for micromobility data-sharing.

Outside of committing code, Chris enjoys traveling, running, choir singing, and electronic music.
